In life there are always two sides, which are extremely contrary. In the physical world Coin expresses this philosophical-dualistic thought at its best. Back to back the two sides of a coin view into opposite directions and will never meet each other.
In the Christian-Jewish genesis we can find a very female contradiction. It is the legend of a woman, who, however, is mentioned in the Torah but cannot be found in the Bible.
The Jewish legend implies that God created Adam and Lilith (hebrew the nocturnal one) from the same loam. However, before their first night together God told Lilith to be Adam’s subject. But Lilith did not accept that she should lie underneath during the sex act since they were created from the same loam and fled from paradise into the desert. Thereupon Adam weighted with God that he was lonely, and thus God created Eve from his ribs.
Nowadays, Lilith is the symbol for emancipation and autonomy, self-determination and sexuality full of relish while Eve embodies the domestic, motherly side of women. Ideally women are both at once, Eve and Lilith, such as Jewish interpretation mentioned, that only if Eve and Lilith unite again, women become one.
In addition, the creation of the unified woman reminds of an American Indian legend. La Loba, the bone woman, personifies a millions of years old Urmutter, who lives in the desert. There she collects bones, which in myths stand for the indestructible spirit soul, and breathes new life into them. These wolf bones represent the indestructible aspect of our wild self and symbolize the basic instinct inherent in us women…

These two legends are the starting point and the beginning of my piece.
